Firstly, this website would not have been possible without Octarine Design. From the start when I thought of the idea, to the completion of the site, Cire Deacon has been there to help me through the process. She designed the website around my requirements, helped me navigate my way through Wix and was at the end of a phone when I mucked things up. I would totally recommend this firm if you needed a website creating, they are brilliant.

Being only a carpenter with limited knowledge on some of the species on this website, I have received help from several sources. I feel it is only fair to mention them:

  • Michael Williams book, The Official Guide to Lundy, gave me some background to a few Lundy species, thank you Michael.

  • The Birds of Lundy by Tim Davis and Tim Jones. If you are interested in Lundy’s birds, then this book is a must. I believe it is sold in the shop on Lundy, and if you are lucky enough to meet them on the island then you could not meet nicer chaps than these two, thank you the Tim’s.

  • I have a couple of books by Rob Hume, Birds of Britain and Europe and The Easy Bird Guide, both of which were immensely helpful in providing background information to my photos, thank you Mr Hume.

  • The bible, Collins Bird Guide second edition, is the ultimate book on birds in Europe. If you have not got it then you need to sort that out.

  • For the butterflies, the reference book Butterflies of Britain and Europe by Tari Haahtela and his mates, was enormously helpful.

  • The Field Guide to the Amphibians and Reptiles of Britain and Europe, by Jeroen Speybroeck and chums was also extremely helpful.

I post my photos daily on Instagram and a young chap called Plato Stefanopoulos has helped me by correcting my mistakes and giving me info on reptiles, amphibians and insects. This guy is a diamond, thank you Plato.

Finally, I would like to thank my beautiful wife, Simone. She has supported me through the whole process and even accepts walking several yards behind me when we go out for a walk, so that she does not scare the wildlife away, thank you beautiful.
