I started taking pictures of insects when the other wildlife was hiding from me. As I have discovered more about these creatures, I have discovered that they are just as interesting as the birds and beasties. The amazingly colourful butterflies are now a firm favourite, and I sometimes go out specifically to photograph them.

The praying mantis has always fascinated me and now, luckily, I now live where they do. I have seen many different bees, grasshoppers and beetles, but the wonderful dragonflies are crying out to be recorded in this Kefalonian wildlife guide. They are also fairly easy to photograph, as they pose nicely on the tips of stems and leaves.
