One of the many advantages of living on an island is having the sea all around you and that means lots of seabirds. Kefalonia gets a lot of visitors from Africa as the birds’ head into Northern Europe and then, stop off again on the return trip. There are resident seabirds as well and the odd bird who visit the sea when the water sources dry up on the mainland.
