MAMMALS
The majority of the mammals on Lundy were introduced and most of them were for food. I think it is only the shrews and bats that are native to Lundy and I am afraid I have not covered the bats here as I have no photos of them. It is strange to think that this little Island has the smallest and largest wild mammals in Britain, the pygmy shrew and the Atlantic grey seal respectively.
The thrill of spotting sika deer early in the mornings, as I made my way up the island is something that will stay with me always. Seeing the Highland cattle was also wonderful, in fact, I am sure I never passed them without taking a few photographs. They are the perfect muse.
