RAPTORS

I enjoy watching birds, but I am no birder. All small brown birds look the same to me and I struggle to distinguish different species. I started taking photos of wildlife when I came to Lundy and saw the peregrines. Birds of prey, to me, are enthralling and there is nothing better than watching them do their thing. I remember being on the beach road in a landrover with Dean Woodfin Jones (The Warden), so I guess we were seeing to the Oldenburg. We were just above Brambles when we spotted a merlin hunting over the copse, behind the Villas. We must have watched it for several minutes, relentlessly pursuing a small bird. These memories are for me, what makes Lundy so special.
