DOTTEREL

These beautiful birds are occasional visitors to Lundy, as they stop off on their migration from North Africa to Scotland and Norway.

This individual was a juvenile judging from its plumage, I checked the bible (Collins Bird Guide, 2ndEdition).

I had heard talk of one being seen while I was working. After work, the evening was sunny and warm, I decided to see if it was still about.

Kev the farmer had cut and bailed the hay and resting amongst some loose grass I found it sitting quietly.

It was just inside Tillage field and was quite happy for me to take a few shots.
